The Canadian Dental Association recommends children to first visit the pediatric dentist by their first birthday or when their first tooth grows in.
An infant´s first visit entails “tooth counting” and diet and hygiene counselling with the parents.
To alleviate any anxiety that comes with a visit, parents are welcome to be with their child during their appointments.
For older children, the first visit may include a thorough dental examination, radiographs (x-rays) and a cleaning. A treatment plan and estimate will be provided for any additional recommended dental treatment.
