The Canadian Dental Association recommends children to first visit the pediatric dentist by their first birthday or when their first tooth grows in.
An infant’s first visit entails “tooth counting” and diet and hygiene counselling with the parents.
To alleviate any anxiety that comes with a visit, parents are welcome to be with their child during their appointments. For older children, the first visit may include a thorough dental examination, radiographs (x-rays) and a cleaning. A treatment plan and estimate will be provided for any additional recommended dental treatment.
